Thanks to all the donations we received\, today we were able to buy and make the order for the materials!\nCongratulations to everyone 🙏🙌🥳 We did it ! 💫😇 \nThis coming week we are entering the Construction Chapter of this project ! \nThe materials arrive around 10 or 11 on Monday morning. Merlin and his Build-Team will be guiding the building process. \nWe welcome everyone to come help and participate ! \nThis is an opportunity to work together\, have fun and learn some Spanish and construction skills in the way. \nSome of the task will be: \nunload materials\nClean materials\nPaint\nDig\nCut metal\nCarry things\nHelp Welding \nWe will be sharing more information as we start working there. \nIf you feel to bring treats or some drinks to the people that are working and volunteering\, that’s a beautiful way to support ! \nPlease communicate with me if you are interested to help.

DESCRIPTION:Let’s not TRASH our planet!\nBecoming a more responsible consumer\, a good steward of community resources\, and a role model for others as caretakers of our neighborhood and planet has many steps along the way. The DBC has made recycling and repurposing of materials a top priority. We want to produce clean air\, water\, soil and food – this means being highly conscientious of what we purchase and where the waste from our consumption goes when it leaves our hands and households. \nBring your clean\, sorted by-products to the Recycling Center on Mondays between 7-9 pm or 3-5 pm (only!)\nWe have been developing our recycling facilities and systems for several years and now have a beautiful new location to receive and process materials in the community in a good way.\nLocation: 150 m on the right after mini super Abues going up San Salvador road (just before the entrance of Diamante Luz). Someone will be present to receive and guide you and answer your questions. \nFor details\, announcements\, educational videos and more please join the ✨🧩 Recycling Diamante ♻️✨ Telegram Group! \nSign up for a shift and get hands-on learning experience that you can pass on to neighbors and friends. \nWhat is and is NOT accepted?  ✨Information about Recycling ♻️💎\nIf you want to bring your recycling here please follow these instructions: \nWe receive : \n1 – Tetrapak \nAfter you finish a Tetrapak: Rinse it\, unfold it and keep the plastic lid separate so it dries. \n2 – Glass \nWe receive all types of glass bottles and Jars\, make sure there is no food or liquid left. \nKeep the lid on after it dries. Some people may want to reuse these. \n3 – aluminum Beercans or kombucha cans \nRemove liquids and crush them with your feet from top to bottom. \n4 – Metal Cans \nRinse properly of any food\, you don’t need to crush them. \n5- Other Metal items \nHere in Costa Rica it’s called Chatara. Remove any plastic plastic parts \n6-Plastic Bottles and shampoo bottles \nRemove any liquids\, food or product. Keep the lid separate so the container can dry. Squeeze it. \n7- cardboard and “plastified or painted “papers\, cotton or natural fabrics. \nWe are using a special composting system to process all this material \n  \n8 – other items \nYou can reuse old gallons to store and separate :\n-Plastic lids\,\n-metal lids\,\n-lighters\,\n-batteries\,\n-wax\,\n-aluminum foil. \nWe also recycle: \n-Coffee bags\,\n-clean dog or cat food (big bags).\n-packaging that has paper and aluminum\, we have a special compost for it.\n-Old umbrellas\n-Old tents\n-reusable strings\n-Old sheets \nTo be more efficient\, bring your recycling clean and sorted. \nWe won’t accept dirty recycling.\nWe Don’t receive : \nBroken glass\nSynthetic clothes\nStyrofoam\nElectric devices\nFridges or washing machines\nhard plastics\nOld blankets\nShoes \nHopefully one day we will be able to receive them\, you may want to save them in bags or containers until we are able to process them. \nWe are doing this service voluntarily and with pleasure. Also we welcome donations if you wish to support the volunteers directly or for the improvement on the recycling center.
