RECenter serves the local San Salvador community with a recycling center that collects recyclable and repurposable material, and teaches people what their everyday choices cost, and what’s possible when materials get a second life instead of a landfill.
The project has built a machine that processes plastic waste into reusable blocks, and is working to acquire an extruder to expand what it can repurpose. It’s practical infrastructure, built by hand, for a problem most of the valley shares.
